Scott retired as a Command Sergeant Major following a 38-year military career; he retired from the N.C. Army National Guard in 2017. He served in Army and Joint leadership and staff assignments at all echelons of command below Army Corps level. Scott mobilized and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004 with the 30th Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division. He again mobilized and deployed in 2013 in support of Multinational Force Observers, 1st U.S. Support Battalion, Sinai Egypt. He was involved in several humanitarian relief missions as a citizen soldier, following many devastating hurricanes and winter storms in North Carolina and other States within our nation. Recognizing a need to honor and remember our Fallen, he Co-Founded the North Carolina National Guard Survivors' Outreach Fund, Inc.
He currently serves as the Executive Director and Secretary for The NC National Guard Soldiers and Airmen Assistance Fund, Inc. Scott has a passion for volunteerism. He is driven by like-minded people and organizations who recognize the need to honor and remember those who sacrificed all.
