Franklinton Post 52 welcomes everyone to our 2024 Awards Banquet. Each year in March, we celebrate two different occasions. The first is the Birthday of the American Legion. This year, we celebrate 105 years as an organization serving Veterans, their families, our community, and our Nation. As an organization, we are proud of the programs The American Legion sponsors and supports. Several recent accomplishments of The American Legion have been the enactment of the P.A.C.T. Act that establishes the rights of Veterans who were harmed by such processes as "burn pits”, the contaminated water system as Camp Legume, and Agent Orange in the Vietnam War to get V.A. benefits and healthcare addressing those harms
Secondly, The American Legion recognizes the sacrifice of those on our home front who contribute to our quality of life by recognizing individuals from Law Enforcement, Fire, E.M.S., Community Service, and The American Legion family who go above and beyond in service to our Community and Country.
As Armed Forces Veterans, we are honored and proud of our Nation and what it stands for. We are a dedicated group of Veterans who want to make a difference in our community, State, and Nation. The following are some of the areas that Post 52 supports:
- Temporary Financial Assistant Fund (TFA)
- Child Welfare Foundation (CWF)
- National Emergency Fund (NEF)
- Veterans Service Officers Fund (VSF)
- Sponsor two high school boys to Tarheel Boy's State
- Sponsor one high schooler to the Student Trooper Programs
- Ronald McDonald House, aluminum can pull tab program
- Memorial Day service and placing American flags on Veterans' graves.
- Veterans Day Service to honor all of those who have served and are still serving to protect our freedom
- Firing Squad provides full military funeral rights for Veterans
- Christmas baskets and visits to Veterans in Franklin County nursing facilities
- Fellowship and camaraderie among all Veterans
For God and Country
