The American Legion, Franklinton Post 52, welcomes everyone to our 2017 Awards Banquet. Each year in March, we simultaneously celebrate two different events: The First being the Birthday of the American Legion. This year we celebrate 98 years as an organization, serving our veterans, their families, our community, and our nation. As an organization, we are proud of the programs The American Legion sponsors and supports. The American Legion has had a positive impacted on millions of Americans over the years and who knows how many more Americans in the years to come.

Secondly the American Legion recognizes the sacrifice of those on our home front, many of which are Veterans, that contribute to our quality of life. We do this by recognizing individuals from Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement, Community Service, Soldiers, and The American Legion family, that go above and beyond in service to our Community and Country.

As veterans of the Armed Forces we are honored and proud of our nation and for what it stands for. The American Legion still stands as a dedicated group of veterans that want to make a difference in our community, state and nation. The following are some of the areas that Post 52 supports.

  • Temporary Financial Assistant Fund (TFA)
  • Child Welfare Foundation (CWF)
  • National Emergency Fund (NEF)
  • Veterans Service Officers Fund (VSF)
  • Sponsor high school boys & girls to NC Boys/Girls State & Student Trooper Programs
  • Ronald McDonald House, Pull Tab program
  • Memorial Day Service including placing American flags on Veteran graves.
  • Provide and post US flags in the Town of Franklinton during Memorial, Flag Day, and July 4th, Patriots Day, and Veterans Day.
  • Stand Up For America, July 4th Independence Day Celebration
  • Support local charitable fundraising events.
  • Provide full military funeral rights for veterans.

For God and Country
George Tracy, Commander, Post 52
